Craft Fair and other news

Image
W ell, it’s been a busy 2 months, trying to get all those yo yo doiles I wanted to get done before the craft fair.  Phew!  I didn’t get all of them done, but found out it was okay because it was not a busy craft fair. D ue to the mis-advertising done by our local newspaper, and 2 BIG football games that weekend, it was slow.  But even if I didn’t get to sell as much as I wanted…which I was disappointed…it turned out to be a great time with my friend, Lisa.  We spent some quality time talking about EVERYTHING under the sun, plus just talking about what God’s been doing in our lives.  Also, we got to know some of the other vendors and enjoy their booths during breaks.  I sure wish I got photos of their booths…but here are my favorites: ~ Angelica Herbs :  www.angelicaherbsoforegon.com (this site it coming soon) ~ Cupboard of Blessings :  www.cupboardofblessings.com   ~ Paupers Candles :  www.pauperscandles.com ~ Candle, Bath an...

A Baby Changes Everything

Image
I came across this song, “A Baby Changes Everything” by Faith Hill on Facebook. When I listened to it, I had no idea it was meant for her Christmas album. I just thought it was a country song about a young pregnant girl. B ut I was pleasantly surprised when I heard in the middle of the song, "Shepherds gather 'round..."  Then I realized that the young pregnant girl was Mary, the mother of Jesus! So I replayed the song, and tears rolled down my eyes as I really listened to the song. “M y whole life was turned around!  I was lost, but now I’m found!  A baby changes everything…! ”   M y prayer, this Christmas season, is to remember our Saviors birth and how He CHANGED EVERYTHING!  He is our Hope , our Salvation , our Deliverer , our Comforter …there is nothing too big or too small for Him!  Let us remember that everyday, and to pass on His Love to those who do not know Him, now and always!  Halleluiah!!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~...

Pizza Crust Recipe, and other news…

Image
I sure wish I could be blogging more these days, but I don’t have any time with the Holiday Craft Fair approaching.  I have been sewing with every spare time I have, and then some.  I have decided to not go to our next ball, and have been missing some ECD classes.  It’s sad, I know, but this fair is more important right now.  Mrs. F., who is doing this me, will be selling her jewelry…did I already tell you that?  Anyway, she and I talked yesterday and found out she will be making her Caramel Corn to sell also!!  Yumminess!! Also, I do ask that you please pray for her mother.  Her doctor found a tumor on her liver.  They aren’t sure if it’s cancer; but since she has had cancer a couple years ago, her family is almost sure it is cancer.  They will find out in 2 weeks what it is.  Please pray for peace that transcends all understanding for her, and the rest of the family. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PIZZA CRUST RECIPE A...

My Future Birthday Gift

Image
T here’s a great advantage for working at an Antique Mall!! Of course one of those reasons is that you get to enjoy all those beautiful antiques. Another is that you get a employee discount. Well, the one advantages I love the most is that you get to pick your birthday gift, and everyone pitches in to get it for you! Just the other day I was making an inventory for someone who was looking for Beatrix Potter figurines. There’s a lot of those, by the way! They are soooo cute! Anyway, while I was writing down the info of one I found, something caught my eye. Do you want to see it?!! It was a Johnson Brothers “Old British Castles” Teapot. I picked it up “ooing” and “awing” over it, and found a price that seemed too good to be true!! Well, I had to put it down, knowing I could never get it, even if it was a great price. I went on with what I was doing, but I just had to show my co-workers my recent “love”. As I was doing so, my co-worker asked me when my birthday was. I told he...

Decorating ~ Home and Blog

Image
O ne of my most favorite things to do (there I go with the word "favorite" again) is to decorate! To make a room pleasing to the eye, warm and inviting, comfortable to the touch, and a safe haven is what decorating means to me. To me, the first rule of decorating your home is to invite the Lord to live there, just as it is in your soul. "But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15b It is He who is our comfort and safe haven! In knowing and understanding that, we know what we need to do to make our homes that place for family and friends, and for those who do not know Him! When it comes to my blog, I feel the same way. I decorate it the way that I decorate our home! I want you to feel at home, at ease, in friend's company......to be a warm and inviting place to enjoy reading about my life as if we are sitting down with a cup a tea, or latte (as some of you know me) talking about what's going on in my life, and what God is doing ...

Over the Bannister...

I t seems that I've been sharing a lot of favorite's with you....but one of my MOST favorite scene, in a musical, is in Meet Me in St. Louis. While dimming the lights on the staircase, John admires Esther and tells her, "How does it go?" She questions him, then he goes on starting to quote a poem and just couldn't remember how the rest went. And with this beautiful voice, Esther sings the rest of the poem! Ahhh!! I just love it! Enjoy!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
