Robin Hood and Maid Marian Berry Tyme Ball

Image
Introducing......... The White Dress! O n Saturday, we had the Robin Hood and Maid Marian Berry Thyme Ball! This ball was held in our local ballroom, which is rare. This ball seemed to me the best ever! I think it was the Ballroom atmosphere, with the decorations, the beautiful dresses and the *ahem* very handsome men. I believe my dress helped in how much I enjoyed this ball too, as funny as it sounds. It turned out great! I put some blood, sweat and tears into it. It was well worth the work to hear the compliments I got. Thank you, again, to the Plett's, for all your hard work in hosting these balls! And thanks to Laura for making those beautiful hair wreaths!! They were beautiful! Enjoy the pictures! I wish I took more, but I had to dance, right?! Laura K. in her beautiful dress! Doesn't she just look radiant?! Me and Laura K. Yes, I'm talking. I was trying to tell my mom how to take a picture with my camera. Alaina and Laura K. Maddy! I had made her and her si...

The Making of the White Regency Dress

T here is an upcoming ball, and it's about time to get started on a new Regency dress, plus a dress to go to an upcoming wedding! I wasn't sure what kind of fabric, or color, I was going to use for this next one, until I went to Joanns. And it came to me! I've always wanted a white regency dress! I got the white muslin for lining, a white textured satin fabric (I don't know what it's called), then a sheer material to go over the sating type fabric. I had some of an idea of what I wanted, but I just couldn't get it figured out. Then I had thought, thought and thought about how I was going to make it. Then Elinor's white dress came to mind. So I got out my S&S movie to take a look. Ah, yes! That's almost exactly how I want my dress to look! The bodice, yes; the sleeves, yes....but no; the skirt, YES!!! ...

O n the 4th of July weekend, my friends and I, took part in a Civil War Reenactment. This is my second year doing it, but my first "Official" year because last year I was just a guest. My friend Charlyn and I camped in the modern camp, but during the day, our friends, the Plett's, were our family (which you see above). They are the friends who put on the English Country Dancing Balls that I attend. Here are just a few of the pictures I took of our weekend together. Enjoy! Laura, our hair stylist for the weekend Charlyn took this when I was sitting down, and it turned out quite nice! Brian trying to get the fire started. No fire, no food!
