There is one part of being single that I find quite challenging. The waiting is hard; but the most challenging is the men in your life.
Being single, as long as I have, I have found many a man that I have been interested in. They come.....and they go! They come into your life; you are attracted to them; you find them easy to talk to, and they have a great sense of humor; they love the Lord, so on and so on.
These men are the one's you start thinking that this is the "one" you've been waiting for. Then you, either, lose interest in them because you found that they aren't exactly what you want; or they start dating or courting someone else, when you thought they were interested in you; or they are much younger than you and you can't wrap your head around being with them; or it's one of those men that you just can't get out of your mind, and it's the long drawn out process of liking them for so long that it will come to complete heartache, AGAIN! Well, at the moment, I'm dealing with one of these areas....and no doubt it might end up, yet again, that this man is not who God has chosen for me.
I have come to find that throughout these years, I have become prone to this constant merry-go-round that I feel nothing will change; that I will be single forever and will continue this monotonous ride. But.......I hear God's promise to me that this will not go on forever. Sometimes I find doubt in His promise and lose hope. Oh how much I don't want to do that to my God! But He lifts me up after everytime I lift up my sorrows to Him, and I once again find hope in His promise.
As you read this, listen to the YouTube soundtrack of Little Women, as it will take you to that place of old and bring back memories of your own. E very time I watch “Little Women”, it brings back my fondest memories of my sisters and mom. My mom, sister (Kristen), and I made a special trip to Portland to see this movie in December of 1994. I remember it being a cold day as we walked into the warm, huge, and packed theater. The sense of warmth of the theater, and all the people made me know that this was going to be a special movie. And must I say, that was the most comfortable theater chair I ever sat in! Once those opening credits started, I started having goosebumps just from the beautiful and powerful music! Then being taken away to a world that I never been before, for I had never read the book. W e laughed… and cried… …and was quite frustrated that Laurie and Jo never married! Come one! Oh well! ...
O h my, I just made the best pie I ever tasted…or made, for that matter! T he other day, I was reading my most favorite blog ( www.warmpiehappyhome.blogspot.com ), and she shared a pie recipe I have never heard of. Buttermilk Pie did not sound appealing to me, but as I read the ingredients, it didn’t seem all that bad. S he also shared a EASY crust recipe! I’ve never met a pie crust I liked…they don’t like me either. But all you do is throw some ingredients together, mix, and then put it in the pie pan and press it until it’s formed to the pie dish. Simple, simple, simple! A t the end of her blog, she shared a link to a youtube video of a woman making a different Buttermilk Pie recipe. So I decided to try this recipe out tonight, and really see if this pie crust will love me, and see if this pie is as good as they say! W ell, the outcome? YUMMY!!! It’s a quick recipe to throw together, and it tastes as if you slaved over it!...
On Mother's Day weekend, I went to Bend for Annika's 4th Birthday! I missed last year's because of Mother's Day. I asked my mom if it was okay with her if I went to Annika's Birthday Party, since I haven't seen them in so long and because of missing last years. Of course, she said "yes". And yes, I made it back in time to let my mom know that I love her! This is Annika when she turned 3, last year. It was so great to see the family! But the biggest change was Eli!! Wow, he grew up! But a few things haven't changed with him too, which made me realize he was the same Eli! I also got to chat with my friend, Megan, who is now their nanny! They are blessed to have her, and vice versa! While the kids were having their Birthday fun, Megan and I got caught up since last we saw each other. She shared pictures of when she was in Germany, being a nanny. Quite an adventure and learning experience for her! Annika had a princess party, which I believe was ...
