Buttermilk Pie

Image
O h my, I just made the best pie I ever tasted…or made, for that matter! T he other day, I was reading my most favorite blog ( www.warmpiehappyhome.blogspot.com ), and she shared a pie recipe I have never heard of.  Buttermilk Pie did not sound appealing to me, but as I read the ingredients, it didn’t seem all that bad. S he also shared a EASY crust   recipe!   I’ve never met a pie crust I liked…they don’t like me either.  But all you do is throw some ingredients together, mix, and then put it in the pie pan and press it until it’s formed to the pie dish.  Simple, simple, simple! A t the end of her blog, she shared a link to a youtube video of a woman making a different Buttermilk Pie recipe.  So I decided to try this recipe out tonight, and really see if this pie crust will love me, and see if this pie is as good as they say! W ell, the outcome?  YUMMY!!!  It’s a quick recipe to throw together, and it tastes as if you slaved over it!  If you like salty with sweet flavor, this

Snowstorm 2008

Image
It’s been quite a winter!!  A snowstorm hit our valley, which the news called “The Arctic Blast”!  Well, it was quite a Blast!!  We haven’t had snow like this in YEARS!  But this was much more extreme than the last one we had!  Let’s just say we had 2 feet of snow!!! I was ecstatic!!!  I’ve always wanted to have snow like this during Christmas…especially as I child!  I would daydream of it every time I heard “Sleigh Ride”!   “It’ll nearly be like a picture print by Currier and Ives” ~~~~~~~~~~ Well, there was no sleigh ride, but my dad and I got to take a walk to the grocery store, since we were snowed in.   What an adventure!  Doing this with my dad made me think of the stories he told us about when he was a little boy.  My dad lived in the good old days, the 1930’s.  He always told us that there was no such thing as school closures when it snowed.  They would just walk to school, like any other day. ~~~~~~~~~~ There may have been a little bit of “Cabin Fever” amo

A Baby Changed Everything!

As you read this post, play the video below.  I was inspired by this song to create a post that will be a reminder to us all of what this season means.  As you spend time with family, friends and loved ones, remember our Lord’s birth, life, death and resurrection, which was done for you and I. Merry CHRISTmas to you all! T eenage girl, much too young Unprepared for what’s to come “ I am the Lord’s servant…May it be to me as you have said.”  Luke 1:38   A baby changes everything “ T oday this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing. “  Luke 4:21 N ot a ring On her hand All her dreams and all her plans   A baby changes everything   A baby changes everything “ C ome to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”  Matthew 11:28   T he man she’s loved she’s never touched How will she keep his trust “ J oseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Hol

Memories of “Little Women”

Image
As you read this, listen to the YouTube soundtrack of Little Women, as it will take you to that place of old and  bring back memories of your own. E very time I watch “Little Women”, it brings back my fondest memories of my sisters and mom. My mom, sister (Kristen), and I made a special trip to Portland to see this movie in December of 1994.  I remember it being a cold day as we walked into the warm, huge, and packed theater.  The sense of warmth of the theater, and  all the people made me know that this was going to be a special movie.  And must I say, that was the most comfortable theater chair I ever sat in! Once those opening credits started, I started having goosebumps just from the beautiful and powerful music!  Then being taken away to a world that I never been before, for I had never read the book.    W e laughed… and cried… …and was quite frustrated that Laurie and Jo never married!  Come one!  Oh well!   S eeing this movie with my mom and sister was a mem
